The Best Sourdough Waffles

  • Author: Monica
  • Yield: 10 1x

Description

This is a delicious and easy sourdough waffle recipe! It’s a farmhouse favorite and it reheats well in the toaster!

Ingredients

Scale

1 Cup Sourdough Starter (active or discard)

1 Cup Milk

1/2 Cup Melted Butter

2 Eggs

1 1/2 Cups Flour

1 TBSP Sugar

1 Tsp Salt

1 Tsp Baking Soda

Instructions

1. Plug in your waffle maker and get it preheating to a medium-high temperature. Melt butter and let it cool slightly.

2. Measure and combine the sourdough starter, milk, butter, and eggs. Next mix in the flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda.

3. Once the waffle maker is hot, scoop about 1/4 cup of the batter at time onto the center of the waffle maker and close it. Leave the waffle iron closed until it indicates that it is done. Open and check for desired crispiness. Serve immediately, or place on a cooling rack to preserve the crisp.

Notes

*I use this recipe on a traditional waffle maker, not a belgium waffle maker.
