“If you aren’t able to raise your own animals for meat, I would highly recommend trying to source locally. Whether it be direct from a farm or picked up from a farmer’s market, the quality of homegrown or locally sourced meat is incomparable.”

The meat pictured is from the KuneKune pigs that we raised, butchered, and processed ourselves on our homestead.

A small casserole dish is perfect for baking a half‑batch of these meatballs or pairing them with a cozy side for brunch. I use a sturdy little baking dish that heats evenly and fits beautifully in a smaller oven or toaster oven. If you’re looking for one that holds up well in a busy kitchen, this small casserole dish is a great option and one I reach for all the time.
